ID (again) please

EOS300D, 300F4L IS+ 1.4xTCII, iso 400, f7.1, 1/2400, 550EX HSS -2/3

I do wish they would put some signs out to tell us what things are when we shoot them :)

I have left this full frame in case it helps with the ID.

Any ideas appreciated.

With the iridescence in the wing feathers, I like the framing as is. Don’t know what he is except he sure is pretty. Excellent shot, Dave. :)

Thanks for the ID Mike, much appreciated.

I'm finding the lack of AI-Servo on the 300D a little restrictive, particularly in situations like this one where the subject is moving away at an angle. But I am getting quite proficient at switching focusing points manually, instead of with my eye :D
