With a goal at Bosque being to get an American Kestrel wouldn't it figure I'd get the one with an Archie Bunker complex
Thanx for looking.

Simple and clean. I like the light and the placement in the frame.

Excellent shot, Brian. I wish I could have gotten a few of this bird. :)

Well done getting a Kestrel. I had little to no luck with these guys. Great comp and light. Full frame or cropped?

Cropped -- and more so than my usual. It was this particular series that had me second guessing my purchase of the 500mm over the 600mm earlier this spring. Of course I was not using a blind and going to Bosque I was not aware of just how skiddish this bird was.

Ah, I'm familiar with this bird. I was wondering if you had gotten the bird since you staked it out. I'm glad you walked away with something even if you cropped it more than you'd like. :) It's still very nice. 8)

The killdeer from that afternoon came out much better (I posted that guy a week or so ago, glad you'd pointed him out).

Brian,

Very nice capture. What I like best is you appear to be at eye level.

You did a great job with this one and it does appear to be eye level. I would have loved to have gotten a nice one of these guys but I just never got close enough. Nice job!

Wonderful skittish bird, well captured and composed, a small tweak in levels could help to make him pop!! Congrats!! 8)
