European Robin

EOS30, Sigma 100-300 F4, Provia 100F, Handheld,

To all of you who have commented, critiqued, helped, guided, advised and shared your wit with us this past year, and to all who share our love of Nature and Photography - This is for you.

To me, nothing symbolizes this time of year more than our own tiny Robin. His presence on a Winter's morning never fails to bring a smile to frozen faces. This is not a great shot by any stretch of the imagination - I was photographing animals at a wildlife park when his song from a nearby tree caught my attention. I just had time to swing the camera around and take this one shot, with no time to focus - then he was gone. I still like this image and post it here to wish you all a happy and peaceful holiday - whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I think this is a time for reflection, and a hope for a wonderful New Year. God Bless.

Best Wishes,

Carol and Dave Clarke.

And my best to you, too!

Or, as they say here in the upper midwest, to you guys.

Or, in the south, y'all.

BTW--this shot isn't all that bad, either. I think cropping out some of the left would make it more powerful.

I definitely love your robins and I especially love this one. A great pose and you've caught him singing. Maybe it's not perfect.....but I know just how you feel about an image like this.
Happy Holidays.

Carol,

European Robins are beautiful birds. The berries give this image a nice Christmas feel.

Happy Holidays to you and Dave also.

:D :D Isn't it wonderful. I only just noticed you are in the UK.

The American Robins' are huge compared. I lived in London for 15 years and loved to see these little wonders.

A happy and joyous time to you too, :)

Hey Carol,

Merry Christmas from a fellow Brit,

Your photo is wonderful and brings back warm memories of when I lived in England.

Carol, I delight in any European Robin ever since watching a nestcam from England in 2000. A wren joined the robin nestlings, and mama fed everyone!! Every best wish for wonderful holidays to you and Dave!!!

There`s nothing like the sight and sound of one of these little fellows singing to lift one`s spirits on a dreary winter`s day! Well done for catching him in full song! Season`s greetings to you, Carol!
