Crawling slowly on the sandy beach last Friday afternoon, I was able to get close to several Turnstones feeding and picking through the kelp washed up on the beach at high tide. Overcast conditions gave me good practice shooting with flash. Cropped about 20% all around.

Very nice shot Mike, I love the detail and colour in the plumage and the grains of sand stuck to his little legs are a bonus!!

Well done, Mike. The excellent detail, good BG, and low angle make this a fine image.

Mike,

Well done and I like the way the ground seems to mimic the colors in the bird.

Excellent Mike. The lighting couldn't be better. The feather detail is great on this.
