I photgraphed this juvenile Blue Jay last September. Amongst the flock he was the most entertaining. He had not grown his full head of feathers yet and looked quite funny.

Thanks for looking

Blue jays are nervous critters and so it's cool that you were able to capture this one.

I once stayed at a hotel in your town (Dodge Suites) that had a number of exotic birds and fowl in the courtyard there. If you haven't been there, you might want to check it out.

Nice one, Lat. He wants the seeds but is afraid to come closer. Great expression.

Since the wood rail is so prominent, I like that you included the food too. The pose is dynamic and shows off an awkward juvie very well.

Lat,

I like the staggered legs, the rail looks quite familar.

And so it should, Ken. It is at the boardwalk north of the RBG.

I absolutely adore this one. The look, angle and pose make this one a winner. He reminds me of my twins when they were little....trying to sneak by me to get a fresh baked cookie.

Nice shot, Lat. This one makes me smile. I love the tentative stance. :)
