Cactus Wren South Texas

D1X, 600/4.

While most of you are freezing in Bosque, I'm down here in South Texas in the sun. :)

This was taken yesterday in early morning light.

I'm posting from a laptop and not sure how this will look, especially the sharpening.

Great shot Alan! While you are burning your butt off we are enjoying balmy weather in the mid 60's. :P

Looks like you are up and running with digital stuff. Is it great or what?

Alan,

Every time I look at your photos I just sit and shake my head - with a smile on my face, of course. :D

Stunning!!

Lovely image in every way. The light's so soft, I'd consider bumping up the contrast a tad (could be the laptop).

Alan,

Its a lovely picture. The overall warm hue can be removed in PS, but I like it as it is. On my screen, the contrast could be increased a little (with curves).
Isn't it a surprise how these little birds can land on the cactus and not get hurt?

I wonder what you can't do!!!!
It's wonderful to see what you are capturing with the D1x, in reality I should not be, the capture part you know very well, here a tad more contrast with about 10% more saturation can make it sing!!! Congrats!!!
I am very Happy for you man!!! 8)
Wishing you all the best!!!!!!!

As usual, it's a wonderful shot, Alan.

It wasn't too cold in Bosque after the sun came up. The ducks sitting on the ice did give you an idea that it might be cooler than it felt, though.

Gorgeous, Alan. A Curves tweak or a bit more midtone contrast would make this even better.
