A common Australian bird that is thriving since European occupation. Usually a bird of open woodland they are now a common sight in towns and cities.

The downside is being so aggressive about protecting their patch they chase of other smaller birds.

Wayne,

I like this shot a lot. Good technique and a pleasing B/G.

Nice job Wayne. He fits perfectly into the composition, and a lot of personality shine through.

Hi Wayne,

Judging by the amount of light on the belly and upper tail I'd agree that some flash was used. Not over done at all though. Cool looking bird.

My goal is to stop down a little in situations like this, to try to get more of the tail and legs/feet in better focus. So far I just keep shooting wide open...

Cool bird, nice perch and BG.

Well Done!

Nice lighting balance with a good background. Interesting angle, I'd like to see a little more back.

Looks to be a touch of smudging and cloning on the left side, but that's a minor distraction to such a striking bird. Color and sharpness really bring us into this one. Big plus for me is that it's from across the pond... :)
