A Green-footed Plover! :) Don't know if this were possible, but I think f/11 for a head-on shot might give a bit more detail. Can't quite make out the area of focus in this image but the perspective is interesting.

Perfect composition for this head on shot. I love the smooth BG with the graduated color transitions.

I too, really like the composition - the BG is gorgeous. f11 might have given you a touch more detail, but it is still a strong image as is.
