Reddish Egret - Fort DeSoto, St. Petersburg, Florida
EOS 1D, 600mm, 1/125, f/5.6, Flash @ -1 2/3, ISO 250

Greetings from Bosque, the NatureScapes folks that joined us are having a great time and we are about ready to head out into the 11 degree morning. Here is something from a little warmer climate. A reddish Egret taken on a solid overcast day.

A truly wonderful photo as is, but the reflection shown makes me want to see more of it.

E.J.,
Nice balance of flash, I wouldn't have known it was used which is always a goal for me. The breeding plumage and the complimentary background really make this one nice.

Ditto Zipp. Flash falloff may actually be a benefit here, contributing to the pleasing shift light to dark in the background water.

Sweet image of a smokin' bird. I'd consider taking a little off the bottom.

Well Done!

Unreal. The color scheme and the bird's isolation from the background really make this one stand out.
