With all the great owl shots being posted lately, I thought I'd put this one up. This bird was a real ham. It let four of us shoot our fill of full frame shots, then it dove down, caught a vole and came back to its perch for another round.
This was taken on the Seward Penninsula in AK a few years ago.

Great stare! The OOF branch on the left doesn't bother me b/c of the OOF one on the right. The light is excellent and the detail is super.

Look at those eyes ... and you got a very cooperative model too.

Paul, I'll never forget that morning! What a great bird. You caught him nicely here too. Some of this series have a lot of guts and gore but this one is perfect.

Paul, great BG and pose. I don't think I've ever seen a Hawk Owl positioned like this.

When I look at this, I think back to the two weeks I spent in Alaska with a flyrod in my hand, and I think I may have made a poor decision.

Great catch, Paul. Love the eyes, and especially the "furry" legs. If this was mine I would clone out the two small OOF branches in the bottom.

And how! For me, nothing has the impact of light like this--gorgeous. I do wish the two background branches weren't there, and as they don't overlap anything, they'd be easy to remove.
