I spent several days attempting to photograph these frustrating birds without a lot of success. This one was outside the unit I was staying in. I sat on the grass and waited for it to come in for water. The BG is thick vines (Sub tropical rainforest) and not the best and the bird is overflashed.

The good news is at least I have one Superb Fairy Wren in my collection. We are spending Two weeks at Bunya at Xmas so look out for a better version in 2004.

Wayne,

You can't always get the perfect shot that you had hoped for, at least you got one in your files now. Like you said, a little hot on the flash, but it looks like difficult shooting conditions.

I've seen a few photos of this species. This is certainly one of the nicer shot I've seen although I'll keep my fingers crossed for your 2004 version. :)

Wayne. This is a cute little bird. Its also one more than most of us have of this species. Good luck getting more for the 2004 version.
