Taken at the Estero lagoon early morning at Ft. Myers Beach. D60 100-400. This guy (White Morph of Reddish Egret) was really active. Unfortunately all shots but this one had a very intrusive background across the water.

Nice lighting and most interesting pose -- what was the dance for?

Looks like he's saying "Eh? Speak up, sonny!"

Nice light.

They dance around to stir up the little fish in the lagoon. They use their wings to shade the water to see down into it better.

This is excellent, Dan. Great light and wonderful pose. :)

Nice job Dan!

This guy looks familiar! Taken in early March of this year? About twelve of us lined up?

If so, that light was great and this guy sure had happy feet. Between the tough background, our shadows and his non-stop action getting a good shot was a challenge. Ended up with a couple I was happy with but I sure would like that opportunity again!

Dan,

Really nice pose and action. Love the warm lighting. I might try cropping a little to improve the comp. About half the distance from the bird to sides all around really makes this pop. IMHO that is.

The White-morph as well as the more common Red-morph Reddish Egrets are beautiful and fun to watch. You capture his dance well.
