It is difficult to find a personal favorite but I would have to say that this portrait is mine. This beautiful creature resides at Lindo Lake in east San Diego and I took this back in May on my first trip to this lake. Quite a tame beast. Full frame.

What a wonderful, endearing pose. If I had something like this it would be a favorite as well. Wow. :)

Excellent!!!

Lovely photo, but a very unusual posture. What was the bird doing?

Thanks Cliff. The swan had been taking a nap and was doing some preening and stretching. Very tame and accepting of my presence at 20 ft. away. This was taken after it had preened a few feathers on its back and about to lower its head to nap again.

Nice black detail and sharpness throughout. Perhaps slightly brighter.

Mike,

I can see why this is one of your favorites, it is gorgeous. Black and red make a great color combo. Excellent detail in the black.

Wow. I'm with the others. I think this is fantastic. I love the dramatic touch of red against the black feathers. I also love the curves of this composition. This is beautiful.
