I know that shooting more "straight on" to the bird would be more intimate. However I couldn't resist the irony of shooting DOWN on a warbler! Another from Mother's Day at Magee, where we had warblers in the 2 foot tall shrubs almost inside min focus distance.

Cindy,
I don't think I have ever looked down upon a warbler. Exposure looks perfect. On my monitor it looks a little soft around the head and eye.

Yeah, I noticed that AFTER I got it posted. A little extra selective sharpening in that area helped.

Really nice! In the fantasy world, the white background wouldn't be there but other than that, you can't render the bird much better than this.

Hi Cindy!

Nice job here! Man, what a nice breeze we had that day! I like the top side view here, a bit different from the norm. I blew (quite literally the highlight) many of my Cape Mays from that day but I did OK on a couple of others! :D

Thanks for sharing!

Nice shot, Cindy. I've got to start working on the warblers....they look like a lot of fun.

I don't think any of us would have passed up this opportunity to shot down on a warbler. A beautiful bird nicely captured.

Maybe a slight crop off the top and right side would improve this by getting the bird out of the center but it is so trivial when the bird looks this gorgeous, I would love to have this one.

When I first opened the image I though that it was over sharpened. Then I read the first post and concluded that it had been reworked after posting. (Which is just fine.) I did figure out what just wasn't right. The back is sharper than the head even with the corrective sharpening.

Still much better than anything I have and a wonderful image overall. I'd work on the sharpening on a copy of the large version a print a bunch of prints. :D

This is sooo beautiful! Yes, you might be able to sharpen the eye a bit more but I think the image works very well. I would consider a half inch crop to remove some, but not all, of the white in the ULC (and a proportional amount on the side.)
