UKNP and ONP are currently running a Joint Regional Challenge ( the classic poms / aussie titon struggle :D ) and the topis is common birds. Mr King who you see above compiles with the requirements, he comes in everyday for a feed or to hang out.

King parrots are one of my favorites, they have a gentle nature and can be quite timid.

Enjoy and comments welcome.

Very nice Wayne, in the short time I've been viewing images in the forum I think this is one of the best I've seen from you. the background is awesome and those colors so vibrant. I only have a very minor nit and it is easily dealt with. I see the background in a few spots showing some noise when I look very closely. I don't think its the slide, perhaps from USM? Not a big thing at all and a quick go over with the blurr tool would eliminate that easily enough. If I had to find something else it might be a wish for a little more DOF, atleast to get the stalk from the banana (thats what that is, right?) in focus but thats just being overly picky and I dont' think it makes much difference one way or the other.

Great photo!

Wayne,

A nice shot of a bird I wish I had at my feeder. The emerald green is unique in these parts.

Nice crisp photo - I have fond memories of these guys around O'Reilly's Guest House in Queensland.

Sweet shot. I agree with others, definitely one of your best to date. If I had one wish, it would be for a little more room on the bottom to show just a bit more of the partially eaten banana. Looks to me like a little less fill might have been in order, but it could just as likely be my monitor.
Looking forward to more.

Looks like he has plenty of potassium in his diet with that banana he's munching on :) WHat a gorgeous bird and a very nice and colorful photo.
