D1x, 300-800 @ 800mm, ISO320, 1/500 @ f5.6, splash of flash
This shot was captured as a puff of wind caught the feathers and fluffed him up a bit. I have sharpened this more than I would normally in response to recent critique, although it looks too much to me now :!: Personally I like the background and the way it echoes the foreground colors but does it work for you guys????
All critique gratefully received and encouraged.

Regards

John

I think that the BG and overall image are very nice. I think that it would be improved by moving the bird and BG to the right to eliminate the empty blue space on the right.

Nice shot John.

I would crop in as Richard says and I would also crop in from the left to the shadow line on the stump. Does not look over sharpened to me.

Such a cute little bird. I love its coloring. Compositionally, this is nice but if it were possible to take a step or two to the left you may have eliminated the flower directly behind him. Still this is one I would love to have. :)

You might try the cropping suggestions. The sharpness looks great. With that...you have a beautiful Blue Tit.
