I'm back in business with a new PC after almost a week's struggle in getting my last PC repaired without any success ...

The smallest duck-like swimming bird found in Hong Kong. It's about ten inches in size! The shot of a Little Grebe was taken last week in a nature reserve here in Hong Kong.

Oh...a grebe, a grebe, a grebe. I love grebes. This one's a beauty...lovely pose and wonderful detail. So glad you got your computer problem fixed...we've missed you.

Question......Do many of your birds at the nature reserve migrate during the winter or will you have them to shoot throughout?

Nice shot. If they're anything like their bigger cousins, not easy to catch :)
Well done.

Lana,

Most of the shore/wetland birds are winter/spring (between Sept and May) visitors to Mai Po Nature Reserve, MPNR, in the north-western part of Hong Kong.

The Little Grebe is a resident here that can be seen all year round ... They are skittish and move all the time making it difficult to shoot!

An awesome photo. I like that he is not totaly dripping wet like you see most Grebes. Great pose.

An excellent shot, KK. Love the eye. I assume the yellowish cast is due to the time of day.

Wow! They are shy and active birds. Excellent catch! I love the crisp details. Hope to meet and learn more from you some day.

I've been going nuts lately trying to get a few grebe shots. This is excellent. Exposure is right on and this is a very handsome bird.

Sandy, the shot was taken one early morning last week hence the slight warm tone. Thanks!
