This singing (if you can call it that!) Grasshopper Sparrow is my favorite sparrow shot. I shot this last spring and had a blast in that area with many different species of sparrow there. This spring I returned and found it plowed under and no birds :( . . These guys tee up on anything taller than the grass around them to proclaim their territory so it is fairly easy to watch where they are singing from and then set up using a bag blind. Thanks for looking.

Wow, what color! And a pose, perch, and background to match. Too bad about the plow. I've never even seen one of these.

I can see why this would be a favorite. The colors are so complementary....and that pose. It couldn't be better.

Looks great here and on the cover. ;) One of the best songbird images around IMO.

Wonderful image, and a great choice for favorite. Looks slightly hot on my monitor, but I know it wasn't when published or when posted before.

Cool bird, great perch and background and the singing is great. Looks a little bit too bright on my screen but otherwise perfect.

Gorgeous, Jim. Like EJ, I'd prefer it a wee bit darker.

Looks like everyone is seeing it as a bit hot. Actually looks a bit hot to me too even though it looks ok in PS. Here it is smaller version toned down a tad. Thanks for the feedback.

Gorgeous! The repost looks more like the cover image. An elegant sparrow shot.
