I walked out on a local sandbar about a year ago looking for late lingering shorebirds when I saw two peregrine falcons flying overhead. One of them swooped down and strafed a small flock of snow buntings, killing one of them. The falcon then flew out and landed about two hundred yards past me to devour its meal.
I thought to myself, "Holy moly!" .
I had to move low and slow, but also cover a lot of ground to get close enough for anything decent. I also had to work myself around to the right side of the light. By the time I was in position the bunting was gone and the bird was cleaning its feet. I got a number of frames before the second falcon flew back and this one took off.

Great shot Paul. Love the light and background. By the way, somehow I think "moley" isn't what actually came to your mind!

Paul:

You really got your "Moley" together on this one. And looking at all the rocks and shells on the beach, I bet that was one painful crawl to get into position.

I think Holy Moley is a bit tame for this one. Definitely a "holy excrement"....I'm sure you hit the dirt and started crawling in no time. Excellent capture.
