(Snow Goose) Bosque de Apache, New Mexico

Well, I didn't think I'd make it. I'm packed. Now all I need to do is get up early tomorrow morning and I'll be off to Bosque. I think I arranged to get on to read my emails but I doubt I'll be doing much browsing at 56K. I'm too spoiled! Someone asked what I wanted from this trip. I'd really like a good image of Wile E. Coyote chasing the Road Runner. And if Wile E. doesn't show up, or my Acme gear breaks down, maybe just a nice image of a roadrunner and not the cloud of smoke like I got last year.

There was a bit of cloning in this one below the goose to remove some OOF fuzz balls. Still, it's one of my favorites with the fuzz balls above him.

Tripod mounted Nikon D1H, 500mm AFS, ISO 200, Manual, 1/1000 @ F8. Cropped less than 20%.

Sweet stuff Tony. The light on this bird and the sharpness are exceptional. Good luck at Bosque. Have a great time.

A wonderful shot, Tony! Please don't use up all that fabulous light before Thursday, I'd like to use some of it too.

Excellent photo! At this time you are probably chasing Road Runner, I wish you good luck and am looking forward to see your pics when you come back.

As I recall (and I don't recall as well as I once did), this is your very best Bosque shot. Am I wrong?

Nice shot Tony, be sure to bring a portable pot-hole in case you need to make a quick get-away...

I'm not sure. There was that Mountain Bluebird image I am fond of, so I'm not sure.

I did make it here. Thank you everyone. The geese and cranes are here and so is Wile E. But I haven't seen the Roadrunner yet. :)
