Taken at Mullet Key, Fl, commonly called Ft. DeSoto. I crawled to within 20 ft while he was chasing small fish in this tidal pool. I love the intense stare on this bird.

D30 100-400@400mm 1/500 f/5.6 fill flash because it was heavily overcast. In fact I finally got chased out of the park by a thunderstorm.

Jeff,

Very nice composition. I love the intense stare. Exposure looks good on this monitor. My only wish would be for a slight head turn toward the camera. But this is still very nice as is. :)

Very nice shot Jeff. The reflection of the beak gives this an intensity.

The reflection really is a plus here and leads the viewer into wondering if this guy is staring intently at whom he/she thinks is just another bird :)

Jeff,

Nice shot. Goog job with the exposure and fill flash. The reflection is a bonus here.

Intense is right....I'd hate to be on the other side of the water. Nice exposure and reflection. Well done.
