Just getting through my spring time images. I watched this pair every chance I had while the young'n was growing up.
I did not know the male cardinal was so attentive to their young; cool. Thanx for looking.

Sweet image and I like the pano crop and the contrasts with the birds and background...shame about that one bit of foliage... :-)

Cheers,

Love the crop, colors and action. The foliage blocks the bird a bit but doesn't hurt the image much.

Brian,

The leaves almost make this transfer secretive. I like it as a pano.

Brian:

I believe that's an adult female he's feeding. A juvie would not have a red bill. This is a fairly common bit of Cardinal courting behavior.

Brian, aj's right. This is typical courtship behavior. Good timing to catch it.

Thanx for the correction, I didn't know how to tell a juvenile from a female. That was one long courtship since this activity went on for quite some time.

A wonderful behavior shot and perfectly cropped. The image looks like it could use a bit more USM. Great catch!
