Chestnut Breasted Malkoha
He is a magnificent bird, slightly larger than a dove but smaller than a pigeon, Don't know his name since it is not available on the ID cards at Wings of Asia Exhibit, and I forgot to ask on the way out!!, His colors are impressive and he is also pretty tame, don't know what has happened to it's mate and now he looks lonely in the aviary!!

Nice exposure. Just paged through the plates in Howell & Webb (Mexico and Northern Central America) and it doesn't seem to be there. That's a very odd bill--closest thing seems to be a trogon, but this is longer and more downcurved.

Cliff, He is from Asia, that's why I mentioned that he was photographed in the Wings of Asia Exhibit at Metro-Zoo in Miami!!!

Wow! Alex, this is fantastic. The colors, the compo, and the detail are as good as it gets. For some unknown reason, I suddenly have a desire to return to Wings of Asia. Soon.

Alex,

What did you do with your list of birds at the Miami Zoo? Fortunately I kept mine.

It's a Chestnut Breasted Malkoha and a very nice image of one.

Jim

Alex,

He is a beautiful little guy. I am not sure if he is lonely, he sure looks friendly. Excellent.
