This is about 30 mi north of NYC....locals say 2-5 Eagles overwinter here..during last years cold spell I would regularly see 10-12 birds out on the ice with one scan of the binoculars. This fellow was trying to steal a fish from the gulls, but he was chased away by several mature eagles. The tree he is in is about 12 ft high... I was standing hidden underneath it when he landed there with a Whoosh, a blast of air, and showering pine needles. I was impressed to say the least.

Steve, this is quite impressive! I especially love the feeling here, the bird in its element and having no idea of your presence.

I am glad you got the scanner, and comp working again.

Keep'em coming!

See ya when I get back,

Chas

Steve,

Very nice shot. I like how the eagle emerges from the pines.

Steve -

Nice composition. The thing I like the best about this the setting. I frequently see eagles perched in the tops of pine trees, but always way too high for anything good.

Good work.

What a magic moment and to catch it of film! Congrats Steve.

Can I ask the location?
Spend my day usually poking along backroads of New Jersey.
I'm a "digiscoper", way out of my league here, but am sure enjoying awesome photography from you talented folks....bob
