Black Swan
EOS3, 300F4L IS, Provia 100F, 550EX -2/3

I used to think that black swans were a genetic anomaly of our native swans

Oh well, older and wiser now :)

Comments welcome and thanks for looking.

A very elegant portrait. A little crop off the right might make it more balanced.

Well done!

What a beautiful swan. I've never seen a black one....only heard of them. You have very nice detail and a sharp eye. I'd be inclined to crop it more as well.

This Australian native can be hard to photograph. That white spot on the beak can blow out. Nice work Dave.

Very well done, Dave. If you were shooting digital, you could have upped the ISO and gotten more DOF. Despite that, I'd take it in a nanosecond.

Beautiful bird and a nice portrait that would be enhanced even more with a top crop.

Dave,

I agree with cropping some off the top. Very nice pose. It's so easy to blow out white band on the beak.

Dave,

Excellent work. Cropping might make it better, but it is very nice just the way it is. You did a great job with the exposure capturing plenty of detail in the black feathers.

Dave,

Beautiful shot of a beautiful swan. I love how the light seems to gently flow across the face. 8)
