As stated the lighting works well here. The shadows give some depth and blend well with the bg.
I agree ...one of the best shots of this species I've seen.

Hi Jim,

Very Sweet Shot!

20 Spoonies at N. Beach? Till 9:30am? I've never seen more than 3 and even then only for a few minutes before moving on. Are they just more plentiful there in the summer?

Anyway, the BG compliments nicely, very sharp, and nice colors. I too would like a little more space below.

This is spectacular! The slight side lighting brings out a lot of detail in this majestic pose. The BG is perfect for this image too. Well done!
