I thought I'd try out posting at this site. I must admit that with my 17" monitor I find the window viewing at this site very annoying. The whole window won't fit on my screen. Can anything be done about it :?:

Anyway, this leucistic Least Sandpiper was photographed at the harbor at Conneaut, Ohio a few days ago.

I like the shot Robert! Any idea of this bird is still there? I might have to make a trip later on today. What is your screen resolution set at? That might have something to do with the viewing size. :)

Robert what an awesome shot of a very cool bird. It couldn't be better!

As for the scrolling issue it is a problem that we are working on but only effects folks with their monitors set to 800x600 or lower, which are usually in the minority. It is due to the logo at the top of the page.

In the meantime try setting your display properties to 1024x768 and that would stop the scrolling. This is the minimum most people use. If you need help in doing this you can e-mail me personally. I will give you my phone number and walk you through it, if needed.

Glad you are here and please excuse our growing pains, we will get the wrinkles straightened out as soon as we can!

This is an excellent image. You are one of the few people I know who could search all the birds at Conneaut and come up with the unique one. It's a great find and you certainly did it justice. Have you ever seen others like this up there? Glad to see you here!!!!

COOOLLL!! Never seen a leucistic Sandpiper. I've seen a couple Willets with this condition. It would be a good bird to give an ID quiz. Thanks for posting this.

Laura, I don't think that this bird is still there, but I could be wrong. I've heard no mention of it over the weekend on ohio-birds. It was there on Wed. and Thurs. last week. I'm sure there are plenty of interesting species there. You can't go wrong at Conneaut at this time of year. Birds come and go constantly in the harbor and the scene changes minute by minute.

Greg, I changed my settings, but I already have a comfort level with 800x600. The photos appear smaller at your suggested setting. I'll just deal with the scrolling.

Lana, I doubt that anyone would miss this white bird in the mix. Unfortunately I doubt that any predatory raptor would either. I hope the little guy makes it. Maybe it will acquire darker feathers in its next molt, but who knows.

Sorry, Robert we are trying to fix it and hope to have it working better soon. :( We are swamped here with these kind of details since the site just went up late last week. Thanks for the patience!

Great image, Robert. Without a doubt, the coolest avian post I've seen this year. Awesome.

Neat find! I've never seen a leucistic peep before and this is a real treat. Gives us all a chance to study the structure of the bird and ignore the color.

I too run at 800x600 resolution, so I hope this scrolling issue will get corrected soon!

Robert, you might try viewing this post. With images allowed that can be 800 pixels wide, you really need to be viewing it from a monitor that's set to 1024 wide or wider. Yes, you're right, everything seems smaller. The text, the icons, the images. But for viewing the entire image at once, it's your only real choce. (I have my laptop monitor set to 1280 x 856.)

I like your Least Sandpiper image by the way. And welcome to the site. :D
