Common Terns West Haven, CT

I spent a great morning shooting our local tern colony last week with the specific focus of flight shots. I liked this one, but was curious to see what you guys/gals think. I hope that you like it! ;)

Matthew,
I really like the composition here with the two terns. I especially like the effect with the more distant tern being so out of focus. My only issue is that the foreground bird appears soft on my monitor. Otherwise, terrific.

Matthew,
A great flight shot! :) I just wished for a little separation between the birds ... The tricolor BG is striking as is. Do I see a slight yellow cast BTW?

As stated, a little separation between the birds would be nice. That BG is way cool. The FG bird really pops against the green.

I love the graded background and I really like the OOF tern in the background, however the fact the the OOF bird is "touching" the bird in the front bothers me, I think it maks the image a little too tense.

Matthew, Nice capture of the thievery that goes on amongst birds, would have like to see a little more separation between birds as well as better detail on the second bird, nice exposure and nice detail on the main bird!!
Congrats!! 8)

Cool shot but my first impression is for a bit more separation. I wouldn't chuck this however!

Mathew:

I like a lot especially for the graduated background. A little greeenish cast, easily correctable.

The background is awesome, love the three tiers. To me the closeness makes the bird behind seem like it's closing in. If I had one wish it would be for the back bird to be in focus, but it sure still works this way. Really great timing on this.

Love the colors... Personally would like to see no overlap between birds but I it is still a great shot as is.
