Been trying for ages to get a photo of this small and very quick bird. It is amusing to watch their antics trying to catch insects and usually returning to the same perch.

Good work, Paula! :) Like the composition as is ... The image seem to suffer from a bit of noise that may have been a result of over sharpening, I'm not sure. :?

Lovely bird with excellent detail, Paula. Quite a pensive look for this wee fellow. I'd probably remove a bit of negative space from our left.

A nice composition with a nice background. I do wish the light was more frontal.

Hi Paula---the BG color is pretty neat! Would that the bird would return for another round to give you more options in framing and posture. Wondering about the burned highlights and graininess. Did you have a particular reason for the ISO 400? Thanks! :)

Paula,

Very nice background. It sets off the Flycatcher nicely! Well done!

Congrats! Nice bird, nice composition and great background. A touch of flash would have taken this one over the top. Is the D60 this grainy at 400 or is it due to cropping or post processing?
