A Fort DeSoto image. The wind was blowing but the direction was wrong for good flight images. This reddish egret came to the rescue. He posed on one leg for at least 30 minutes allowing a water approach. I got two images of him squawking with his head feathers windblown. Unfortunately he's not in breeding plummage. Later on he proceeded to do his dance routine and fish also creating wonderful image opportunities.

10D, 600IS, ISO 200, f6.3, EV-2/3, cloned out some OOF BG birds.

Comments and reposts welcome.

Now that I think about it, Jim, I've never seen a Reddish doing a legstand! They are forever running helter skelter. Beautiful and sharp image!!!

Very nice Jim! Who cares about breeding plumage when you have a pose like this? ;)

"Leave me alone you silly photographer!" It looks a bit unagreeable about having the leg stand recorded on film(er, digital film that is). I like this one. :)
