It's been ages since I last posted anything here. Actually I've only posted one image so far... (it became IOW by the way :D )

This is a female Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) sitting in dog-roses, and the dog-roses are also proving the wonderful background.
Wheatears are mostly seen on migration here where I live, and for me it's a real autumn-bird. They are all gone for now, winter is closing in, so this photo is a little nostalgic for me

Wow, this one is pretty spectacular too! Nice and sharp, lovely light, great perch. I like the dappled background and that I know what the blobs of color are because of the perch. Fantastic!

In addition to the above comments, I really like the use of leaves along the bottom to give the composition a firm base.

Very nice shot!!

I've been trying to catch up on a month of missed images, and am now only 1 week behind. I've only commented on a couple images in this process to save time, but I must comment on this image - it is exceptional!

I love everything about it, and can't understand how it has received so few comments. This is such a rarity here in the US (I've only ever seen one of them), and is so much more worthy IMO than yet another tame Florida egret.

The image quality is spectacular; the setting is perfect; the pose if fine.

What a great image!
