This is a severely cropped image of a young bird in a lilac bush in CSP made during the NANPA shoot in October. I thought it was sharp enough to make into this composition for a fall card. I brown-toned the image. What do you think of the crop and the color? The BG is a grassy hill. Thanks in advance for any comments. 1Ds, 500 f/4 IS, 1.4 X (700mm), 1/3200 @ 5.6, -1 exp. comp, ISO 200.

I think it's Yummy !!!! , What else you need to know!!!
I know the 1Ds pack a great resolution, pretty much self evident here, the bird is well exposed and your choice of colors for fall looks very nice as well, the bird looking almost into the sun and the catchlite rounds off this nice image!! Congrats!! 8)

The brown tone looks unusual ...

Juli,

This is beautiful!! I love everything about it. The composition is wonderful. The brown tone gives this an antique look that should work very nicely for your intended use.

The phot looks good. The brown has just a tad too much magenta in it for my taste but it certainly is an interesting shot!

Julie, Love the comp and the perch. I'm undecided if i like the brown tones. Is this a Field Sparrow?

It's a nice looking image but the brown tone just doesn't do it for me. Just one inconsequential opinion.

Juli,

Nice shot. I like the brown tones. It should make a nice card.

Juli, I like it! The browns do seem to have a bit of magenta in them, but I think it works. This would make a beautiful card.

Wish my "severely cropped" images looked like this! :D

Hi Juli,
Very nice. Love the composition. I too think that it is just a tad too magenta.
