Red- Bellied Woodpecker

Houston, TX

F5, 600/4, Sensia 100.

I have just as much fun finding interesting stumps and perches as I do taking the photo. This is a backyard setup, taken in the fall.

My only nit is you forgot to take the tag with the model number off of the perch.

Seriously, this is absolutely killer. I love the pose.

Alan,

Very nice shot. The pose and perch are great. I like how you left the purple leaf on the right side in the frame.

What does a perch like that cost? Looks expensive. Wonder if we will see them in the NSN Store any time soon.
Oh yea, nice shot!

Alan, The Woodpecker is perfection!! I recognize this perch ... page 33 in your most recent catalog! Surely a fair price, but the shipping charge is outrageous!!

Excellent, although I wonder about the fresh looking break of the stump. Is that peanut butter in there? ;) The bird looks so clean and sharp and the scan makes it look like a digital capture. I love this!

The sum of the pieces is worth more than the total. Great bird. Great perch. Priceless image. How do you reward him when he lands on the correct side?

The turning leaves are a nice touch on this otherwise nit free image of the bird.

Perchman....you have done it again. You have a beauty here. Maybe I'd better go out and look for some stumps.....right now that'd be easier than finding any birds. I see an extra credit project for my students. After their test Monday they'll be desperate!!!!
