American Wigeon Anas americana

I have enough of these wigeon and shoveler against the fall colored background to post for a long while. Only problem is that I don't have a great variety of species. The leaves are gone and now and only the bare trees are reflecting in the water. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

This happy little gal was proudly strutting her stuff for me that fine day.

I could have cropped closer but I like the fall colors and large area of undisturbed water. :)

All comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking. :)

I love this! The water and the open bill put this over the top. Can't wait for these little squeak toys to arrive in our area this winter.

Georgeous duck and water. What really sets it off are those little touches of blue in the ripples fore and aft of the duck.

Gorgeous, rich colors both in the water and the bird.
I would crop it from the bottom to remove the neck part of the reflection. Since the whole reflection isn't there, leaving the neck tends to draw your eye to the bottom and out of the image.

Just wonderful. Alan Melle's "squeak toys" is a very accurate description of these guys. They're just so cute as is this shot. :)
