Every morning before school I visit the lake at the Catholic Center across from where I teach. This week had some wonderful opportunities such as mist coming from the lake and an intensely colored sunrise. I didn't shoot because I knew I'd be late for school. Yesterday morning was a gorgeous sunrise and the reflections of the trees were incredible. I'd had enough...I got the camera out and shot some grab shots. Yeah....I was late to school.

I realize this isn't a great shot, it doesn't have a unique bird, it doesn't have a nice "perch" but I really liked the colors....so this is all I have to offer! The motif only stated fall foliage and colors....it didn't say anything about having to have a good bird with it!!!!

Yes, the color is wonderful, Lana!
As you said the 'perch' could be better ... still it's not too bad at all ...

Oh, I thought teachers are supposed not to be late to school ever!

I think it's a better shot than you think, common bird?, nothing further from the truth, Any one with such a wonderfully big and fluffy butt can be that common!!, exposure is very nice, great colors and the perch is out of the ordinary!!, Well done SP!!!! Congrats!! 8)

Lana,

You have this week's and next week's motif rolled into one. This isn't your ordinary run-of-the-mill CG photo. The colors and light are wonderful. The graphic lines the perch creates adds to the overall package.

Definitely worth being late to school for. :D

Hey Lana,

I'd put this perch in my inventory :)

This is a beautiful shot with awesome colors and a fitting bird as well.

Lana,

Beautiful work. The composition is excellent. I like the way the perch ends about 2/3 of the way across the frame. The colors are great and the pose of the goose is pretty good too.

I would plan on being late again on Monday to see what you can come up with.

Absolutely gorgeous light. I would do a linear conversion and use the white's from that in conjunction with the rest of this image - the perch is no problem at all with this fantastic colored water.

Lana,

Lovely, Now if you'd switch to teaching photography, you could get great images all day.

Lana,
Wonderful colors on this one. We don't see Canada Geese down here very often (we are really lucky!), but when I lived a little farther up north the Canada Geese always made me think fall was coming.
