I like your choice to put the open spot in the lower left - knowing how whales feed, this strikes me as the calm before the storm. I'd bet this makes a really dramatic series.

George, you have the neatest, most incredible photos of ocean scenes! This is no exception. I might consider a contrast adjustment to enhance the overall effect, but photographically, this works for me.
