Burrowing owl in glorious light

Cape Coral, FL.

I took this last year in Nature's glorious golden light. Yes, I too would have preferred a different perch, but ... :shock:
Raising the camera to the subjects level was an integral part of the image success.

D1X, 400 f/2.9 AFS
exposure-incident (no comp)

The perch doesn't bother me at all here. Wow the light is red - this must have been very near sunrise/sunset. A very nice shot!

Here the legs are the main attraction, But, I have split feelings about the hairy legs!!

Those eyes are so intense - perch goes totally unnoticed. Light is right at the edge of day - excellent.
