Mallard Drake
I set up my blind this morning to work some Kingfishers that were feeding on the lake. Besides the Kingfishers, some mallards came by and I got off a few shots in the fall foliage reflection.
It's a been awhile since I've had the camera out. I almost forgot how :?

Chip,

This is a real nice preening shot. You captured the behavior as well as the colors in his head very well.

Hey Chip. Kingfishers and wild ducks, what a morning :)

Great shot. Love the preening. The head looks a tad bit soft to me. Love the water.

Chip -

Nice tonal range. Ilike the purple-ish sheen on the head.
A little CCW rotation is in order.

Good behavior shot!

Nice one Chip! I agree with everything Alex said.

Alex, no one works from a blind in FL. It is too darn hot and besides, all the birds are tame!! :P

I, too, tend to hide in the open, which doesn't serve me the best sometimes. :? Nice work here. Glad you had a good morning. :)

Chip,
The head looks a little soft to me also. Nice colors and exposure looks right on the money.
