Harvey,

Pose and BG look good. The bird is very soft and there appear to be artifacts around the foliage.

This is over a 50% crop and the artifacts are from resampling and compressing for the web. As a TIFF file printed at 8X10 it looks fine.

Harvey. This would make a great horizontal too. The bird is just a bit too soft. I might try to sharpen it a bit more. Love the over the shoulder look.

Sharpened up a bit for the web although in print the original works better :)

Great shot Harvey. I enjoy the darker background and the head turn, but seeing the back.. Since this is a tiny little bird, I think the space above is appropriate.. Nice work..

I love the pose of this little bird as well as the nice background!!! Also, the sharpening on the second post helps a lot!!!!

I usually have to sharpen considerably more for web presentation than for printing.

I love the pose and the background. This is a very nice image. :)

Nice. The second post is an improvement. I'm with Bill, I edit my posts completely different than my prints.

Nice. I like the size on the bird in the frame. Second post much sharper.

Wonderful little feather ball, nice composition to boot and very nice exposure as well, looks like it has a bit of camera shake to me, but I could be wrong!!, Nice!!! 8)

The second one looks better. I think that it's a good image with the BG, pose and perch. It does look a bit funky though....but then I've had several that had a similar appearance so who knows.

I have no problem with the composition and the softness has already been discussed.

Harvey,
The colors are great. I like the second version better.
