Bill, Love the delicate preening, the pose and the BG. It could go a tad lighted. Awesome photo.

Very nice image Bill. The detail is great. I took the liberty of lightning it up a little bit with Colorwasher 1.02. Hope you don't mind the repost.

No problem. I pay special attention to whites. I sometimes keep the image a tad under the proper levels to keep the feather details. I recently calibrated my monitor with the latest hardware. Your repost shows the whites totally blown out. Maybe I need to recalibrate again.

Great subject and nice composition. I think the repost presents it more attractively although somewhere in between may be best. The original is a little dark (the whites are gray) and has a blue cast. The repost may be a bit bright but the whites are white. Nice image.

I love the preening pose. The feather in the bill really sets this off. I agree that something in between the original post and the repost would be ideal. I'll bet this is incredible printed. :)

Pose and detail are great. It appears you have the correct exposure. You can make the whites as bright as you like.

Thanks Chip. I may have a problem with my monitor calibration. Time to call in my son, the computer whiz, and calibrate again. :?

Nice capture, nice exposure and excellent detail, looks to me as if it is morning light, the bird is extremely white for that type of light, it should be a little warmer, just my taste!!! Congrats!! 8)

Thanks for all the comments. After looking at this post for some time, I see what you are saying. I have spent several hours working with similiar images, working on the whites. And, yes, the whites posted here are too dark, not as they should be. We learn from honest and sincere comments. Your critiques have helped me greatly. I promise to do better with future posts. Best regards,
Bill Lockhart

I like the original but my monitor at home is always a little on the bright side. I agree that there is plenty of detail there and the whites could be brought up a bit. I like the 230's or 240's at the top. I agree with Alex that the bird is very white if it was taken in the early morning or late evening.

I have no problems with your tight crop. Very nicely presented.

One of the more interesting Snowy images I've seen. Excellent composition. The original is a little blue and the repost is much better.
