It depends on the species! For instance an American White Pelican weighs around 16 lbs, while a Brown Pelican weighs around half of that! The Atlantic birds are a little lighter than the Pacific...

In reality it is only a guesstimate!!, No one know for sure !!!
The male pelicans don't care how much they weigh, and the females refuse to answer the question!!!

Darn, Greg, you got it. When I ask non bird people the range goes from 15 up to 30 lbs for a Florida brown pelican, and I recall reading somewhere that ours average 5-6 lbs.

Wrong forum to trap someone :lol:
