With the pelican pictures that have been posted, the only interesting thing about this picture is that many of you have not seen this species.

Hope you enjoy the picture.

Any comments welcome.

This is an excellent first post. What a lovely pelican and you captured its beauty very well.

I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

Well, if you're David, then I have seen this species before---posted by you! I have enjoyed both images very much and appreciate the different species view. I think this is the perfect first post.

You beat me to it...

Excellent shot. Mine are much less, because when I met these there was no sun, only overcast light.

Cheers

Pelicans are so cool. Love the dark feathers and the rubbery looking bill.

Very nice, I like the ruffled feathers and that the head is turned back even though the body is going away.

For me, the bird moving away in this image works very well - especially because of the head turn. Great to see a different kind of pelican, this one looks beautiful.

Thanks for posting this fine looking chap from down under. I hope you get as fine an image when he's in breeding plummage.

Yes, I am David, but I don't recall ever posting this image before. I'm still sorting the images that I took in Australia, getting ready to put them on a CD.
Thanks.

Could you have posted this species but not this particular image? I haven't seen very many photos of this species so it kind of stands out. :)

I don't think so. :D I have several images of this species form Sep. 2003, and some non-digital images from 1999, but I'm sure that I have not posted any other than this.
Thanks for your interest.
