I LIKE IT :D . Normally more room at the bottom would be appropriate for the virtual legs but since the one leg is raised I think it works fine. My personal preference would be for less room at the top. Wonderful light on the bird with the dark background makes this really stand out!!!

Less on top and more on the bottom would be ideal but still very nice as is. I love the raised foot. :)

Doug, this is very, very nice. The light is superb and the pose and exposure wonderful. The suggested crop would further enhance this already killer image.

Thanks for sharing it.

Best,

Doug -

Great light on this guy. The bittern pops out of that darker blue BG.
The pose is great too.

Nice job!!

I'm also a big fan of the creeping foot. :) While I echo the wish for more room at bottom and less at top I still really like this. How nice to find this fella out in the open!

Reminds me of a Russian soldier high-kicking! Cool pose and I like the dark bg.

That's quite a foot. I'd like a bit more room on the bottom but it's only a small nit.

Sweet image Doug,

The great bird, wonderful light and the head up pose make this image. The raised foot is the frosting on the cake. I'll agree with a bit more room at bottom, however not a big deal.

Doug, I agree with the crrop suggestions. You're most fortunate to have captured him so much in the open with this great light. Love the raised foot.
