Another test on my new EF300mm f/2.8 L USM.

Subject : Crested Bulbul (Pycnontus jocosus)
A very common bird which could be found virtually just everywhere
Date: October 01, 2003.
Location: Hong Kong Park
Technical: EOS 10D, EF300mm f/2.8, EF2x II TC, f/8, ISO400, Metz 54MZ3, Flash EV-1, BB, C1LE

We have a few living in South Miami, but the little trouble makers always perch pretty high, of them I only have butt shots, But a lovely bird it is!! I love the red feathers near his tail, good exposure and would have liked a slight turn of the head to see his face better!!, Congrats!! 8)

Griffin,

I might do a tighter crop on this to remove some of the busy BG. I like him calling and although its a little steep, it works well as the bird stands very upright. Nice shot.

The background is a bit busy but the detail on the bird is excellent.

Well we don't have them (and please don't bring them), but I have seen some in Australia last July. I was not able to shoot them.
