Hi All,

I've been lurking around here viewing the images and commenting when time has permitted. I am finally a registered member so can now upload and post to the site.

This Dickcissel was photographed in a field adjacent to a new park in Wood Co. Ohio. Cricket Frog is the name of the park and promises to be a good spot to photograph in coming years. (e-mail me for directions if interested Laura)

Eos 1v, 500mm IS, 2x II, 25mm tube for a gain in image size, Velvia F100 rated normal. Wimberly on Gitzo 320, set up in drivers seat of my white Chevy 3500 diesel. What a stealth mobile!! Small crop from left and top.

Thanks for looking and for your honest critiques.

Good birds in good light to all,

BZ

I like everything about this one! The front-on angle is interesting, love the position in the frame and the foliage, as well as the BG.

Awesome work BZ, the fanning of the foliage is echoed by the birds head position and song... very very successful..

I love this Brian! I am especially fond of the single little foot holding on. The fact that it was made in Wood Co. makes it all that much better. I have yet to see this species and am eagerly awaiting directions. :)

Very nice! Glad to see you posting here. You may want to consider painting your (large) mobile blind camouflage unless you are using all that white as a giant reflector. Or maybe winter camouflage, didn't think of that at first.

Hi, Brian, great to see you posting! :)

You picked a good one for your first! Love the rich green tones in the background and perch, as well as the patterns created by the leaves. The fluffy bird at song is so cute and very colorful. Super work with the scan, too.

Brian,

Welcome to NSN! You captured a wonderful moment and pose here. I love the way the foliage seems to be presenting the bird into the image.

Very nice. :)

Looking for a nit......

darn, I can't find one! I love this shot! The green on green works very well here.

I do also visualize a horizontal with the ends of the weed on the right and the bird on the left, though with about 100mm less focal length ;)

As E.J. said; it's about time! :P

Seriously, it's great to have you participating over here and thanks for the support. It's truly appreciated!

Brian,

A bird I 've never photographed. Nice to see how he deflects the leaves away. Oh yes, It's about time you registered here.

Good to see you here, Brian!

This is a cool shot. The perch is great. The bird really pops off that smooth green BG.

Very nice!
