I read just an article about Pink Pelicans : they don't exist ! they are in fact White Pelicans who became pink through the same kind of food, like Flamengo's and Ibis. :(

Monique, another different perspective. You handeled the tough lighting condictions here well. The bird really stands out against the black BG. Cool shot.

Monique, this is beautiful.

Your exposure, composition and BG are right on the money. The detail in the shadow area of the bill is relly nice.

Well done, Monique. I really like this one, mainly because of the unusual perspective.

The pelican appears to have been colored in with pastel chalks. The dark bg really accentuates the soft vibrancy (deliberate oxymoron) of the coloring.

The composition is very nice, IMO. :)

This is a very pretty image. The dark BG and light direction work very well here.

Considering the extreme contrast, you handled this lighting situation very well!

A wonderful capture of the pelican in tough light. Not fond of the black BG but don't know that I'd have done anything different in this case.

Monique,

The dramatic lighting is what this one is all about. It certainly stands out. The exposure is right on. Good job cramming that beak into the frame :) Well done.

This is your best yet. The lighting is so dramatic on the head and really is set off with the BG. Composition is also wonderful. Excellent job on this one.
