Bosque del Apache, NM

Since many of us will be heading to Bosque in Nov, I thought I would post an image from this magical wonderland. Opportunities exist around every corner; you need only open your mind.

Best, and see you in the field,

I realy like the colours here, but some of the blured birds are just a little too blured for my taste. The one near centre in particular is a bit of a distraction. Many of the others have a nice soft motion look to them. Perhaps that was the look you were after, or maybe you stopped down for dof. Still, I bet this would look awesome in print.

Spectacular shot Chas. Looks like it needs a couple of degrees of CCW rotation.

Cool shot. I especially like the satin-like water and the one crane standing in the LL powerpoint.

I hope to see and meet you in Bosque at the NSN outing. :)

Chas:

I love the water and the reeds in the background. I cannot wait for Nov. 22 when I get back to this great place.

Where were you standing? I don't remember any spot it's possible to get this close with a 400mm lens, no TCs? Wow! We're hoping to go in December (sorry we'll miss everyone) -- hope to find your spot!

Fabulous colors! I am curious if this was taken with a low shutter speed, as the background fields have a soft look to them which I thought might be slight motion blur. I think it looks really cool, however it happened.

Looking forward to Bosque! :)

That looks like the main crane pool on the road leading to the visitor center. I wonder what the grass will look like this year?

Chas, interesting image. It looks like it was stopped down and a very slow shutter speed. I wouldn't have thought of that.
