Fuji Finepix 2600, Ganymede 80 mm refractor, 1/124, f/3.5, ISO 100

This was my first bird photo worth keeping, taken while digiscoping about a year and a half ago. I haven't been able to photograph a hummingbird since! All comments are welcome thanks for looking! :)

Laura, this is wonderful in my book! And quite an accomplishment considering it was digiscped! I love the background, the sharpness in the face and the blurred wings.

The semi pano crop here emphasizes the diagonal position of the bird nicely and good solid technicals.

This is outstanding! Hard to believe it was through a scope! I like this much better than the typical 5-flash setup photo. Can't beat that BG etiher.

A wonderful little hummer and a great accomplishment as well, I take my hat off in salute, I am not brave enough to try this shot with such and arrangement, It reminds me of a gifted Digiscoper from the shores of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba who's name I can no longer recall!!
Congrats!!! 8)

Laura, this is as good as it gets. No wonder you took up bird photography. You can see how still the bird is as his wings beat like crazy. killer BG.

This is an excellent hummer shot....and for digiscoping it is incredible. When I first started with birds I had a Nikon Coolpix and thought about digiscoping but decided very quickly that it would be too difficult. You did a great job with this one.

Hi Laura,

You have no idea how much time I've wasted at Magee trying to get something like this. Why wasted? B/C I've come up with zip on the hummingbirds at Magee.

Great job! And with a scope no less....

Digiscoping does pay off when things work out. I've never seen a digiscoped flight shot until now. Very well done!
