Shot last summer at Elk Island National Park. The Pelicans were hanging around the same area as the Red-Necked Grebe nests I was shooting, at the same time.

Sigma 50-500. I don't have any other technicals handy.

The Pelicans were swimming around in a group, and every once in a while they'd all stick their heads under at once; many would come up with fish. I wish the butts on the left weren't cut off, but the birds refused to cooperate by staying in a nice tight grouping.

It is cooperative fishing, mostly done in shallows tide pools, by swimming they congregate the fish in a circle and then they all dive at the same time!!
It must be very successful when this behavior is so prevalent on the white pelican!!! Wonderful behavioral capture!! Congrats!!
