Hi,

European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) is one of the most colorful passerines in Finland.
Where has he got his color, any ideas? ;)

Iso Speed: 400
Exposure: 1/1600

Wonderful light, great exposure and I really like the flowers. The flowers, IMHO, almost overpower the main subject. Wonder if you could clone out the beak of the other bird below which is partly obscured...Very sharp and the catchlight in the eye is super... good job

Great shot. There are many crop options here IMO. a little busy but does show the bird in its environment.

What an absolutely beautiful bird!! I have never seen one of these before. I agree that the flowers compete for attention. The photo shows the bird well in its habitat.

Very nice. :)

A nice sharp composition, Jussi. The flowers do compete for attention with the bird, but nonetheless add a colourful element to the scene. I do wish the other semi-obscured bird wasn`t there though, as it does distract from the star, IMO. Difficult to isolate one of these, though, as they do tend to flit about in large groupings!

I absolutely love the bird and I love the BG. I guess maybe the BG does draw my attention away some. However......I do love the detail and color on this one.

A real neat looking bird. I'd definitely clone out the second one.

A rainbow of colors. It would be a candidate for some different crops. I too would loose the beak on the second bird.
Cool shot.

A lot of competing bright areas here. Still it does show the bird in a very natural setting. Nicely done.
